Overview
With three string orchestras and two full orchestras, AYO offers a complete orchestral experience for young musicians at every skill level, typically ages 8 to 19.
Weekly Sunday rehearsals prepare musicians for free public concerts held at venues across Austin each season. Rehearsals are conducted by leading professional musicians and music directors from the Austin area, and are supplemented by sectionals, along with additional workshop and masterclass opportunities with visiting artists. Advanced performance opportunities are available, including the Annual Concerto Competition and the Chamber Music Program.
Tuition varies by orchestra.
No student is turned away from AYO because of an inability to pay tuition. Tuition assistance is available through interest-free payment plans and full or partial awards for qualified financial aid applicants.
